Privacy statement

This site measures visits. Below is exactly what gets recorded, by whom and for how long — and, just as important, what does not. Kept short on purpose: a wall of text is not information.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

1. Who we are

Cortegs B.V., based in Breda, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce number 75288303, is the controller for the processing on this website. Questions and requests about this processing: info@cortegs.com.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer; the nature of our processing does not make one mandatory.

2. What we measure, and why

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages of this site are read and on which devices. Those numbers are used to improve the site: a page nobody reads gets rewritten or removed. That is the entire purpose.

We do not build profiles, do not personalise advertising, do not follow you across other websites and do not resell anything. No advertising tag of any kind runs on this site, and we do not buy ads.

Analytics loads only after you have chosen “Accept”. If you choose “Reject”, or say nothing, no Google script is loaded and nothing is sent to Google. Your choice can be changed on any page through Cookie settings at the bottom.

3. What we record per visit

  • which page you visited (URL and page title) and whether your visit has ended;
  • which kind of device, operating system and browser you use, plus the screen size;
  • the rough location (country, sometimes region) derived from your IP address;
  • whether you arrived from a referring page;
  • an identifier Google assigns to your browser, so return visits to this site can be counted as such.

Google Analytics neither logs nor stores IP addresses; the rough location above is briefly derived from one. We do not receive your name, e-mail address or any other directly identifying data through analytics. Contact and applications run outside this site: CVs never enter our infrastructure.

4. How long

Event data in Google Analytics is retained for 2 months and then deleted by Google.

5. Who sees the data

Google Ireland Limited is our contracting party for Google Analytics; Google LLC and its subsidiaries process the data on our instructions (as processors). The Google Analytics Terms of Service refer in section 7 to the Google Ads Data Processing Terms: those are the data processing terms that apply to this processing (the name mentions Google Ads, but they cover Google Analytics too).

Data may be processed in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; where no adequacy decision applies, Google uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (module 2), which it incorporates into the data processing terms named above. See Google’s page on the legal frameworks for data transfers. Beyond that we do not share visitor data with third parties, unless we are legally obliged to.

6. Cookies and similar technology

  • Analytics — Google Analytics places cookies in your browser to count visits to this site. We set them only after your consent.
  • Choice — the cookie cortegs_consent holds nothing but your decision (accepted or rejected) and a version number. It stays on our own domain, is not forwarded to Google and does not track you across other sites. After twelve months, or as soon as this statement changes version, we ask you again.

We use no other analytics cookies, no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict its use, to object to the processing, and to data portability. Consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time through Cookie settings; that leaves the processing up to that moment untouched. We answer a request within four weeks. If we cannot resolve it with you, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
